Exclusive Apple iPhone carrier AT&T reports about profits increasing

AT&T reported third-quarter revenues a little bit more then $30 billions. AT&T’s reported net income for the third quarter totaled $3.1 billion compared with $2.2 billion in the year-earlier quarter.
May be this is result of iPhone trade campaign? If it is so, them iPhone really made a lot not only for shareholders, but for all stakeholders of Apple company.

Are people lying to themselfs speaking about iPhone?

Citing research from ChangeWave Research, Jonny Evans (Macworld) reports that “the iPhone now leads the pack in terms of customer satisfaction among its US customer base. An unprecedented 82 per cent of iPhone owners reported being Very Satisfied with their purchase, up five points since the previous survey in July and by far the highest rating of any mobile manufacturer.” Evans notes that “the research found 16 per cent of respondents who plan to purchase a phone in the next six months saying they’ll buy an iPhone - placing Apple up at the top among all manufacturers.”

apple.com

It's nice research, but if we take a look from human psychology, we can say, that it is normal, if 82% of people, who bought iPhone say that they are satisfied with their purchase. Why? Just because when you buy the phone, which costs 400 $, you could not be unsatisfied! And it is not only money question, it is also public opinion! You have the iPhone, so you are modern and fashion guy. If approximately 50 % say, that they are disappointed of the iPhone, other part will think it over and say what they really think, not just say, that they are happy to have iPhone in their pocket!
So, my opinion is, that this is opinion, which is based on crowd. All think and I will.
And what about 16% who wants to purchase the iPhone in 6 months? It is simple, they are result of the "crowd" opinion.
I am not saying that the iPhone is bad device! No, it is marvelous, but the premium price put it higher in the imagination of the customers.

Who will gain the profit besides Apple from Apple's Trademark of iPhone Design?

In both applications, Apple has filed for iPhone design trademark protection under International Class 009. Apple’s design trademark applications were accompanied by an unprecedented number of evidence specimens, numbering more than 170.

MacNN reports

Of cause the main reason - to protect design and the whole idea of iPhone from imitations from other mobile device design companies. Have you already seen future mobile phone from LG? It looks like iPhone! I don't know whether they change its design or not after such step of Apple, but I think, that the general advantage of this situation would be on the consumer side. It is because company will have to unwillingly make up new designs for their devices more appealing then iPhone.

iPod Classic and iPod Nano has been updated to 1.0.2 via iTunes.

This update came without any description, but previous reports are:

- Faster menu navigation (that's nice, especially for iPod Nano)
- Improved Cover Flow
- Video Out Fix (Hm..m..m...)
- Compilation Album Art displayed only once in Cover Flow

Have you already updated your iPod?

Would it be monopoly for iPhone applications?

October, 17

... Some companies are already taking action. Nokia, for example, is not allowing any applications to be loaded onto some of their newest phones unless they have a digital signature that can be traced back to a known developer. While this makes such a phone less than “totally open,” we believe it is a step in the right direction. We are working on an advanced system which will offer developers broad access to natively program the iPhone’s amazing software platform while at the same time protecting users from malicious programs.

apple.com

I don't know how to translate this for human-users language, but it's seems to me, that is something like monopoly for iPhone programs developers.
Am I right, that I can not write my own application to my iPhone because it would have problems with digital signature?
Of cause, it will protect iPhone from viruses, but also it will give, by my opinion, opportunity for iPhone application developers to ask a good price in the uncompetitive iPhone application market...
I hope, that I am not right. ..

Apple Employees woul be Fired For Collecting Rebates on Free iPhones?

Prehistory:

Apple promised a free iPhone to every fulltime employee and all part-timers who have been with the company for over a year, including retail associates and Geniuses.
That is nice, you will say. It is a good stimulation for working on Apple company - to have a free iPhone! (It is interesting, did they have planes to reward all their staff by giving them new generations of iPods? Wou! a new iPod! I would come to work without salary!)

But now there is an information that a few of these lucky retail employees let their greed get the best of them. About 800 Apple Store retail associates who received free iPhones have also cashed in on the $100 iPhone credit that Apple issued for early buyers.
It is normal, that Apple wasn't happy about wasting $80,000 to employees who already scored free iPhones.
And this is the question: what apple should do?

Somebody says, that unfair employees should be faired...

Like in US in Europe Apple choose only one retailer for iPhone

It is Orange, the leading wireless carrier in France, who will be the exclusive French carrier partner for iPhone.
By the way, it has been announced today that iPhone will debut in France on Thursday, November 29 .

The iPhone is a marvelous product and will change how people think about mobile. I’m delighted that it is launching in France through Orange, and I’m sure that our customers share my excitement

said Didier Lombard, CEO, France Telecom.

So, let's wait and see, may be something new would be in Europe version of iPhone?

iPhone is the most brilliant gadget of the year!

Сonsider to Popular Mechanics Magazine iPhone is one of the top 10 Most Brilliant Gadgets of 2007 in category the smartest Phone.

Just look, how they describe the iPhone:

Of course, you’ve heard about this phone. But have you used it? The best way to understand why Apple’s iPhone ($400) has sent shockwaves through the cellphone industry is simply to check your voice mail with it. Instead of passwords and audible instructions, the iPhone displays a visual list of voice mails—which are saved as audio files. Using the bright and responsive touchscreen, you scroll through the list and tap a message. When you’re done with a message, simply slide your finger over it and a delete button pops up. At the top of the phone is a button that locks the screen, so it can go back in your pocket without risking accidental commands. All phones should work so smoothly. Because of the iPhone, they’ll eventually have to.
